Thanks for visiting!
I’m Mary Anne, a Utah-based wildlife and conservation photographer. I’m educated as a scientist (I have a doctorate in biochemistry) and have a lifelong interest in art, writing, and the natural world. With wildlife photography, I can combine all of these different ways of seeing and relating to the world. I’m currently exploring how to use these tools to benefit birds and their habitat.
I bring a camera when I travel, but my labor of love is the birds and wildlife in my home area. My current project focuses on the rapidly disappearing Great Salt Lake, largest saline lake in the hemisphere and lynchpin habitat for ten million migrating birds. My work juxtaposes the vibrant bird life of Great Salt Lake with its otherworldly landscapes.
